Bluemoon Equestrians Skills Development and Equine Educational Program

Bluemoon offers a variety of training programs, short courses, workshops and clinics.


Some  of them are fun, informativce and for general interets puroposes and others are designed to not only educate but to do so with the intent of getting people acreddited with an internationally recognises qualification in horse care, stable managment and instruction.. 


There is no need for proof of prior learning and knowledge for participation in any of our programs. Even the ones designed to formal accrediation. Everything that we teach we do so from a grass roots level all the way up to expert. And each course comes with a comprehensive , easy to understand Bluemmon Equestrian study guide . 

For those that do not have english as a first language we do have translators that have  not only worked with us  before but who have all completed the course themselves, which ensures things do not get lost in translation or left out


And for those that are interested in learning a specific skill, but that do not want to do a formal studyt program we do offer tuition on individule subject matter. These can eaither be bocked privately or you can be done as a clinic for a group booking

About the courses

What are they:

The Skill Development Programs are designed to educate and uplift the standards in our industry, and they follow the frame work of the N.Q.F and E.Q.A.S.A. They involve structured lessons and practical sessions that are scheduled over a certain period of time and students are expected to practice and revise.


They require students to meet certain criteria and to be able to prove competency and proficiency before certification is given and there is additional studying in the form of assignments and there is also a recommended reading lists.


Lessons consist of:

  • Theory lectures - By coaches and specialists in the industry
  • Practical lessons
  • Practice times
  • Shadowing of specialists in various sectors


Where you they take place:

Training can be done at our yard or yours


Each topic covered can be studied individually as a stand alone program with prior arrangement


Registration and payments for exams must be made by the trainee with EQASA

Course Options

Bluemoon Equestrians:
Grooms Course - Level 1

NQF LEVEL:

  • The Bluemoon Equestrian Grooms course - Level 1 covers all subject in preperation for:
  • NQF Level 1 - Professional Groom 


WHO IS IT FOR:

  • People already working in the industry
  • Yards wanting trained staff and a professional edge
  • People new to owning horses


WHERE IS IT HELD:

  • OUR YARD OR YOURS


HOW AND WHEN:

  • We do training once a week at your yard one day a week (Normally takes about 4 hours)
  • Each training session consists of a theory and practical lesson plus a supervised practice session
  • Grooms then have a week to practice and learn
  • The next week we do a quick revision session before starting the new subject

NQF LEVEL:

  • And partial credits for:
      • NQF Level 3 - Horsemastership
